Badminton is game played by volleying a shuttlecock i.e. a small, cork hemisphere to which feathers are attached—over a net. Light, gut-strung rackets are used. Badminton, which is generally similar to tennis, is played by two or four persons. The net is 5 ft (1.52 m) high at the center and 5 ft 1 in. (1.55 m) at the posts. The game was first discovered in India, although it may have been known earlier in China. It was popular in the 1870s in England,
taking its name from Badminton. The game was introduced into the United States in the 1890s and grew in popularity in the 1930s. The International Badminton Association (founded 1934) sponsors the Thomas Cup for men's teams and the Woer Cup for women's teams, the world championships of badminton. Badminton has been an official Olympic sport since 1992.

Football or soccer, is a sport played by two teams consisting of eleven players, and it is the most popular sport in the world.Football is played on a rectangular grass or artificial field, with a goal in the centre of each end of the field. The object of the game is to score the ball into the opposing team. In general, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to touch the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their chest or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. The game is usually of 90 minutes.
If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the game. The modern game was codified in England following the formation of The Football Association, whose 1863 Laws of the Game created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football), commonly known as FIFA. The most prestigious international football competition is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years. This event is widely viewed in the world.
The object of the game is to advance an inflated leather ball into the opponents' goal. The ball is kicked or advanced with other parts of the body, but only the goalkeeper may use the hands. Each goal counts one point. Penalties are various types of free kicks, depending on the fault made by a player.A player may be ejected (without replacement) for a serious foul. Perhaps the greatest soccer player in the history of football is Brazil's Pelé; other modern talented players are David Beckham (England), Franz Beckenbauer (Germany), Diego Maradona (Argentina), and Zinadine Zidane (France).
